Renewed interest sparked in 2018 missing person's case

Caitlin Denison was last seen at a Walmart on North Midland Drive and had communicated being "afraid for her life" to friends and family.

MIDLAND, Texas — A new development in a missing person's case has captured the attention of law enforcement.

Since 2018, the case of Caitlin Denison has gone unsolved — she was last seen on Jan. 10, 2018.

However, according to Texas Department Of Public Safety (DPS) Media Communications, Sergeant Steven Blanco, "there is renewed interest in the case based on new information gathered by the Texas Rangers."

With new information six years later, it is thought that the public may have information to solve the case.

Over six-and-a-half years later, the search continues.

“We’re asking today for the public to look at this again and see if this new information helps them to remember some details or any information that they may have to help bring closure to this case and have answers and hopefully find Caitlin Denison," Blanco said.

According to Blanco, Denison had met a man on Jan. 9, 2018, and had traveled together by way of Reno, Nevada to the Permian Basin.

It was on the following day that Denison would be seen for the last time, at a Walmart on North Midland Drive. Family and friends of Denison were told that the then 19-year-old was "afraid for her life."

It is believed they went to Domino's Pizza in Odessa on Linda Avenue and then Rick's Cabaret to try and get a job -- that was the last day Denison spoke to her family and friends.

The man she was last seen with "was a known truck driver in the Permian Basin oil industry."

It is believed that the night before her disappearance, Denison had stayed with the male in his RV.

According to Blanco, his identity is being withheld for the investigation.

Blanco also said they hope his work connections will help solve the case.

"He still has associates, friends, contacts in the Permian Basin," Blanco said. "They may know some information -- it is believed they possibly do know some information -- and that the public could have some information that could help break this case loose for the investigators and help solve this case and provide the answers that are needed."

“The investigators, Texas Department of Public Safety, Midland Police Department is hoping for the best in this also," Blanco said. "And, to bring answers to the family first off, to bring answers to the community and to bring closure to this case wherever that may be.”

Denison has blue eyes and blonde hair, and is described as a 5-foot-5 blonde female last seen wearing a dark shirt, black leggings and black boots.
