Carlsbad PD says that "no shots were fired" at IHOP incident in Carlsbad

The Carlsbad Police Department responded at approximately 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday and immediately secured the area.

CARLSBAD, N.M. — The Carlsbad Police Department is investigating a "shots fired" report that happened on Wednesday at 3:53 p.m. at an IHOP located in the 2500 block of South Canal.

When officers arrived to the scene, they immediately secured the area and "identified" several staff members and others.

According to Carlsbad PD, no injuries were reported or discovered.

The Criminal Investigations Division of Carlsbad PD is leading the investigation.

In the release, it does not say if there is a suspect at-large.

As of Thursday, Carlsbad PD has since said that no shots were fired in the incident
