MIDLAND, Texas — There is another scam that the Midland Police Department (MPD) wants the public to be aware of.
On Wednesday night, MPD reported that people are pretending to be officials within their police department, "wanting to talk about confidential legal matters."
According to MPD's report, "the scam asks people to call back a number, including those with an 843 area code."
If anyone receives this type of scam, please call MPD's non-emergency line at 432-685-7108.
According to the report, MPD suggests "calling that number and asking for the person."
