ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — The Ector County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) wants the public to be on alert about yet another scam.
According to a Facebook post from ECSO, authorities have been notified of an individual identifying as Sergeant Andrew Haver. The post said the individual was calling local citizens and threatening them with arrest unless they make immediate payments.
"The Sheriff's Office will NEVER call and demand money to avoid arrest! If you receive a call like this, it is a scam. Please hang up and report the incident to us immediately," said ECSO.
ECSO also said, "Stay vigilant, and please help spread the word to protect the community from fraud."
