Snyder PD: Man exceeds speeds of 100 mph before colliding with officer's vehicles during high speed chase

Police initially conducted a traffic stop on the driver for driving 49 mph in a 30 mph zone. Then, it escalated from there.

SNYDER, Texas — The Snyder Police Department reported Friday morning that a man was taken into custody after a high speed chase ended with a collision with police vehicles.

Around 3:40 a.m., officers saw a car going 49 mph in a 30 mph zone on 37th St.

According to Snyder PD, police tried to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle did not comply and led officers on a high speed pursuit on Hwy 84. Police report that the driver exceeded speeds of 100 mph and was traveling in the wrong direction.

Snyder PD stated that the driver then collided with officer's vehicles before getting out of the vehicle. He was then taken into custody.

According to police, no one was injured due to the incident.

Snyder PD will not release any more information on this case.
