Suspect that escaped Midland County jail is now in custody

Michael Nash, who escaped Midland County jail Thursday night, was caught by MCSO Friday evening.

MIDLAND, Texas — Update (12/15 5:50 p.m.):

Midland County Sheriff's Office tells Midland Crime Stoppers they have caught 41-year-old Michael James Nash, who escaped from Midland Central Detention Center Thursday.

Statement from MCSO:

"At approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Midland County Sheriff's Office assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety located Michael James Nash in the area of the 1700 block of South Midkiff Rd. Michael Nash was taken into custody and transported to Midland County Central Detention Center."

According to Midland Crime Stoppers, a man has escaped the Midland County Jail.

41-year-old Michael James Nash escaped from Midland County Central Detention Center Thursday at 7:27 p.m. He escaped by manipulating a secure door in the facility, according to Midland County Sheriff's Office.

Nash was confined for theft over $100 under $750, evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest or detention and out of county warrants for forgery of a financial instrument.
