Teenager in critical condition after Hobbs shooting, HPD says

HOBBS, N.M. — A 17-year-old is currently in critical condition after a shooting in Hobbs Tuesday, according to a press release from the Hobbs Police Department.

On Tuesday at about 5:46 p.m., HPD responded to the 500 block of West Lea St. in reference to a teenager who had been shot.

The teen was taken to Covenant Hobbs Hospital, but was later flown to an area hospital where he is currently in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives are looking for two possible suspects who may have been involved in the shooting.
