Two arrested in Odessa after stealing truck in armed robbery

Isaac Carrasco and Taylor Woods were both charged with aggravated robbery. Carrasco was also charged with discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities.

ODESSA, Texas — Two people have been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery Wednesday, according to the City of Odessa.

On Tuesday at about 11:35 p.m., the Odessa Police Department responded to First Basin Credit Union Auto located at 2710 North County Rd. West in response to a robbery. 

The victim said that someone pointed a firearm at them and stole their vehicle.

When officers arrived, they made contact with a 20-year-old man and 20-year-old woman. They said they were talking inside a parked truck in the bank parking lot. 

According to an arrest affidavit, the victims said that a black truck pulled in front of them.

They said that an unknown man, later identified as 38-year-old Isaac Carrasco, approached the truck and ordered them to get out of the car while pointing a shotgun at the man.

After the man refused to get out of the truck, Carrasco fired a round into the air before pointing the shotgun at him again, demanding him to get out of the car again.

The victims eventually got out of the truck, Carrasco got in and drove away.

They said that another person, later identified as 33-year-old Taylor Woods, jumped from the passenger seat of the black truck into the driver's seat and drove away as well.

OPD tried to locate the stolen truck over the radio. Eventually they found it in the 2600 block of Beaty Ave. The bed of the truck had been spray-painted black. Officers contacted Carrasco, who had black spray paint residue on his hands who matched the suspect's description.

They also made contact with Woods who had the keys to the black truck in her purse.

The two were arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated robbery. Carrasco was also charged with discharge of firearm in certain municipalities. Carrasco currently has a $150,000 bond for the robbery charge and $2,000 for the discharge charge, Woods currently has a $50,000 bond.
