ODESSA, Texas — Two people have been arrested after a shots fired call turned into a drug and weapon possession arrest.
On Tuesday night at about 11:48 p.m., the Odessa Police Department were called to the Westwood Square Apartments in reference to shots being fired.
Witnesses on the scene said they heard multiple shots fired from an apartment at the complex.
When police arrived, they found a broken window at the apartment, along with a mesh screen on the ground.
Officers got into contact with 24-year-old Pamela Melendez, who said her boyfriend, 23-year-old Isaac Beseril, had "fired multiple times at the apartment."
Police later found Beseril in the 2200 block of Catalina Dr. The uncooperative Beseril had marijuana and a firearm on him.
OPD obtained a search warrant for the Westwood Square Apartments. They found a bullet hole in the closet that had traveled through the wall and into the next-door neighbor's apartment who were sleeping at the time.
Officers found 7.6 pounds of marijuana, 21.7 grams of THC, 10.2 grams of ecstasy and MDMA pills. They also found nine more firearms in the apartment, including two guns that were stolen. One had the serial number removed from it.
Beseril and Melendez were charged and arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Beseril was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, deadly conduct, possession of marijuana, two counts of theft of a firearm, tampering with identification numbers, unlawful carrying of a weapon and discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities.
Melendez was charged with two counts of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, two counts of theft of a firearm and tampering with identification numbers.
