Two people arrested in Alpine in alleged stabbing

ALPINE, Texas — Two people have been arrested in Alpine for an alleged stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning in the 600 block of West Sul Ross Ave., according to Captain Felipe Fierro Jr. with the Alpine Police Department.

According to a media release, APD officers responded to a call about a person crying out for help in the area of the 500 block of West Sul Ross Ave.

When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old in the 400 block of the same street, who said he suffered two stab wounds at a residence in the 600 block of West Sul Ross.

The 27-year-old was tended to by medical personnel and then transported to Big Bend Regional Medical Center.

After APD officers conducted an investigation, they discovered that two people were allegedly involved in the assault of the victim.

APD then obtained arrest warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

APD executed the arrest warrants on two suspects, 31-year-old Alex Almada and 56-year-old Jeanne Lewis.

Both were arrested and transported to Brewster County jail.

An investigation is ongoing and other charges may be pending.
