Woman stabbed to death in front of 2 children in Houston | Husband detained

Two children, ages 11 and 8, and an adult woman reportedly witnessed the incident.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman was stabbed to death at her home in northwest Harris County Friday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office were dispatched around 6 a.m. to the home, which is located on Kleinmeadow Drive near Bammel North Houston Road.

When they arrived, they found a woman in her 40s with multiple stab wounds. Two children, ages 11 and 8, and an adult woman reportedly witnessed the incident. The woman's husband was not at the scene when deputies arrived.

Investigators found the husband at a nearby gas station on Spring Cypress Drive near TC Jester Boulevard driving the victim's car. He was detained and will be taken to the Harris County Sheriff's Office for questioning. HCSO said the case will then be referred to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, which will determine what, if any, charges should be filed.

Investigators were waiting for a search warrant to search the home.

HCSO said there have been calls for service at this home before, but couldn't give any details about what they were for. Investigators said the woman had reported that her husband had taken her car around 5:30 a.m. Friday, around 30 minutes before deputies were dispatched. The sheriff's office said they don't know whether that call had anything to do with the incident.

The two children and the woman who witnessed the incident were taken to an area hospital as a precaution and have since been released. HCSO said investigators will speak with them to get a clearer picture of what happened. At this time, they said they don't yet know the motive.

HCSO said this is the 24th domestic-violence-related murder case they've worked this year.

If you have any information about what happened, you're asked to contact HCSO or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
