MIDLAND, Texas — It is not always an easy conversation to have with your kids, but the Children’s Advocacy Center and Midland Rape Crisis Center say talking about child abuse needs to happen.
The Children’s Advocacy Center and Midland Rape Crisis Center is hosting “Blue the Basin”. This is a family friendly event where you can learn more in a comfortable setting with activities.
“Because this month is so important because it’s child abuse prevention month, and part of prevention is education and awareness," said Annabelle Aguilar, marketing and event coordinator for the Children's Advocacy Center. "So, we try to teach people what we offer, the services we offer and the education we provide in the schools and we also try to raise awareness so that people understand that this is an issue that’s prevalent in our community.”
The event is being held at the Museum of the Southwest on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Parent presentations will start at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
