On June 17, the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Board of Trustees approved a second package for a new Pecos High School fieldhouse, according to a post on the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Facebook page.
The comprehensive replacement project aims to deliver entirely new facilities by 2028.
Originally planned as a remodel and expansion, discussions in Summer 2023 led to the decision to construct a completely new athletic facility.
The project will provide new football and soccer fields, as well as a new track, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, classrooms, a weight room, and an athletic training room.
The total cost of the project is $43,909,321.
It was reported that the project will be funded through the district’s capital and 2023 bond funds.
Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD posted an animated video depicting the new facilities. You can view the full video here.
