ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — STAAR test results have been released for schools across the state including Ector County ISD.
The district said they have closed the gap between their scores and the state averages in 3rd and 7th grade reading, language arts, math, 8th grade math, as well as biology and U.S. History.
Even with the improvements, ECISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Muri said the scores are just part of the puzzle that defines success for the district.
"The STAAR and end of course exams are only one data set that we see we actually look at data year round and are constantly tweaking and adjusting," Dr. Muri said. "We're not where we want to be organizationally and so we will continue to evolve and improve on behalf of the children that we serve every single day."
The district and the state are also seeing a decline in the areas of math, science, social studies and English.
