ODESSA, Texas — The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) has announced Monday that their Direct Admissions Program will include Alpine High School seniors, according to the Director of Strategic Communications for UTPB, Alexa Dunson.
On Tuesday, the admissions team will be on campus to personally deliver the direct admissions offer letters to nearly 60 students.
Dunson said more than 45 of the nearly 60 students are eligible for merit scholarships.
The program eliminates the need for the traditional Apply Texas application, allowing students to complete the below three simple steps:
1. Confirm their direct admission offer via an easy online form (no Apply Texas required!).
2. Submit an official transcript to UTPB’s Office of Admissions (students can also bring it directly to the admissions team during their visit).
3. Sign up for New Student Orientation using a link sent to their email.
“We are thrilled to extend this opportunity to Alpine High School seniors,” said Dr. Becky Spurlock, senior vice president of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at UTPB. “The Direct Admissions Program eliminates barriers, making the journey to college as simple and seamless as possible for students.”
