SNYDER, Texas — According to a Facebook post from Western Texas College, they're one of the 150 community colleges eligible for the $1 million 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
According to Aspen Institute, the award is given out every two years and honors colleges with outstanding achievement in teaching and learning, certificate and degree completion, transfer and bachelor's attainment, workforce success, access and equity for student of color and student from low-income backgrounds.
The 2025 Aspen Prize cycle began in October when Aspen invited 150 community colleges to apply.
The 150 finalists are from across the USA, including 13 from Texas.
