Hard Freeze to Impact West Texas

A strong cold front will arrive early Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for West Texas with the exception of the Marfa Plateau from 9 p.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday.

A strong cold front will arrive early Saturday morning. It will reach the northern Permian Basin at midnight, areas along I-20 around 3 a.m., and the southern counties around seven in the morning. This is a fast moving cold front, so winds will be strong! The entire region is under a Wind Advisory for wind gusts upwards of 30 mph until noon on Saturday. Not only that, but this system will be responsible for the first freeze of the season!

The average first freeze in Midland is November 12th, so a bit late this time around.  The National Weather Service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for West Texas with the exception of the Marfa Plateau from 9 p.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures will plunge to the 20s and 30s Saturday night with wind chills in the lower 20s!
