MIDLAND, Texas — Performance Chemical Company is working to make over 5,000 gallons of hand sanitizer and is donating some to medical personnel and first responders
The company pivoted to producing hand sanitizer to help meet needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Performance Chemical Company has delivered sanitizer as far west as Marfa and Fort Davis and as far north at Tulia in the Texas Panhandle.
The sanitizer was delivered to first responders at Midland Fire Department Station 6. They say it's all to protect people who protect everyone else 24/7.
Anson Caswell, one of the managers of Performance Chemical Company, says there is a drastic need for supplies in many communities.
"There is a huge demand for the product right now. With that comes supply and demand. It's been a little rough but we've been keeping up pretty well," said Caswell
Previously the company had donated hand sanitizer to medical personnel on April 2. They had intended to donate all the sanitizer that day but couldn't make it so they dropped off the rest Monday.
They also say they will be getting a lot more hand sanitizer out to the community in the coming week.
