MIDLAND, Texas — The first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine has arrived at Midland Memorial Hospital.
This first section of the vaccine, which arrived around 10 a.m. on Dec. 17 will go to health care workers.
MMH has picked the first five people to receive the vaccine and will began distributing it Thursday afternoon.
Hospital staff, including MMH's CEO Russel Meyers, joined Reverend David Harwood in saying a prayer over the vaccine prior to the distribution process beginning.
The first vaccine was distributed at 12:57 to Gerardo Catalasa, MD by Kim Calderon, a Registered Nurse.
The other four vaccines were given to Tracey Hall, RN, Kavitha Bagadi, MD, Bridget Castillo, RN and John Peterson, MD.
