18-year-old drives through brick wall in Odessa; cited for running red light

An investigation by the Odessa Police Department revealed that the teen ran a red light and crashed into a brick wall, causing his car to roll multiple times.

ODESSA, Texas — A major crash occurred in Odessa on Sunday resulting in a car going through a brick wall and ending up in the backyard of someone's home, according to an Odessa Police Department press release.

Around 1:45 p.m., OPD and Odessa Fire Rescue were called to the intersection of Faudree Road and Eastridge because a major crash occurred.

Once both departments got to the scene and conducted an investigation, the investigation revealed that a 18-year-old teen driving a maroon Isuzu I-370 was going east in the left turn lane.

According to OPD, the teen then ran a red light and crashed into a brick wall, causing his car to roll multiple times.

The car ended up crashing into a residence and ending up on its side in someone's home near the intersection.

OPD stated in the release that the 18-year-old was cited for running a red light and was taken to a local hospital with no-life-threatening injuries.

Odessa police said there were no other injuries and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
