EDDY COUNTY, N.M. — Two people have died after a car struck a utility pole in Eddy County Thursday night, according to Gracie Gonzales, the training sergeant for the Eddy County Sheriff's Office (ECSO).
The fatal crash was reported at 11:42 p.m. and happened on North 13th St.
Gonzales said the Artesia Police Department needed the assistance of ECSO's Crash Reconstruction Unit.
After an investigation was conducted, it revealed that a white 2014 Chevrolet Corvette was going northbound on 13th St. and collided with a utility pole.
Gonzales said both the driver and passenger in the Corvette died at the scene.
ECSO is still investigating the crash.
