Almost 30 people still missing after Ruidoso fires

The South Fork Fire has scorched over 17,556 acres with while the Salt Fire has burned over 7,900 acres.

RUIDOSO, N.M. — 29 people are still missing after the Ruidoso wildfires from the week of June 17.

The South Fork Fire has scorched over 17,556 acres with 55% containment while the Salt Fire has burned over 7,900 acres with 38% containment.

There are currently "no entry zones" that are considered crime scenes, which means there are still people who are not able to pass through. These zones include Highway 70 east from Roswell and Highway 70 east from Tularosa.

The FBI is still investigating the wildfires and nobody has been arrested.
