MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Merry Lighted Christmas Parade was once again a smash hit with the people of Midland.
The parade kicked off at 6:30 in the afternoon and saw dozens upon dozens of people line the streets and sidewalks to catch a glimpse at the floats and cars cruising down the street in their best Christmas-themed attire.
The parade began on Venture Avenue and went all the way down N. A Street before ending its tour at Illinois Avenue.
Even Santa Claus himself, along with some hard-working elves, took time out of their busy schedules to pay a visit.
However, above all of the fancy lights and cars and Christmas music, one theme rang true throughout the night: togetherness through community.
“It's just a good time to bring them [the kids] out and show them the festivities of what the holiday is about, and that Jesus is first," Julian Rodriguez of Midland Prodigy Baseball said. "We're just happy to share that with them and happy to see the community come together to share a little a little Christmas spirit.”
