MIDLAND, Texas — Veterans and West Texas heroes were in attendance on Monday at the Calvary Cross in honor of Veterans Day.
The event was hosted by ICA Properties honoring the veterans who were invited to experience music and messages from pastors including Kyle Rodgers, Barry Marks, Jimmy Braswell and Griff Jones.
“This is the second year for us. We just decided that there is definitely a connection between those who have defended our country and defended each one of us, protected us and protection with the Lord God provides through his son Jesus Christ," said speaker and veteran John Bushman. "We should all summarize in the Calvary Cross."
The event also served as a solemn moment for veterans like Michael Baker, who spoke about the emotional weight of remembering fallen comrades.
“It means a great deal when I think of the people that I served with who are no longer here. They didn’t get a chance to participate in Veteran’s Day,” Baker said.
Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a shared meal provided on-site. It was a chance for veterans and community members to connect, share their stories and honor the legacy of their service.
The annual event was a reminder of the strength and resilience of those who serve and the importance of coming together to remember their sacrifices.
