MIDLAND, Texas — If you're ready to eat some BBQ and jam out to some live music, this weekend marks the 7th annual Basin Burnout.
Hosted by the Permian Basin Association of Directional Drilling.
The event will host many musicians that represent a wide variety of genres.
"We have 30 teams cooking this year. It's an unsanctioned event, so they're cooking for pride. Cooking for championship belts, so when you come to the event, you're not only going to see great bands playing, but our headliner is also Scott Stapp, the voice of Creed. We have Tonic opening it up for him. We have a great slew of bands playing throughout the day, but you're also going to have some great BBQ to taste as well," said Mike Elphick, President of PBADD.
All of the proceeds will go to military veteran charities.
Russel Johnson, Vice President of PBADD had this to say, "[Veterans] come back with a whole bunch of invisible wounds, that may not be visible to mine or your eyes. All the things we're doing, all the charities we're supporting, help combat those wounds of war."
Tickets are 50 dollars and can be bought online at basinburnout.com or for 60 dollars at the event.
All VIP tickets have been sold out; only general admission is available.
