Crews extinguish 'Pine' fire in Howard County

As of Thursday at 8:17 p.m., the Texas A&M Forest Service said the fire was fully contained. It turned out to be 41 acres in size.

The Big Spring Fire Department confirmed Wednesday afternoon that crews were on scene of what the Texas A&M Forest Service is calling the "Pine" fire.

As of Thursday at 8:17 p.m., the Texas A&M Forest Service said the fire was fully contained. It turned out to be 41 acres in size.

A reporter on scene said the fire was near the 700 block of Pine Street, just west of the Banks Addition.

Not much has been released about the situation at this time, including if any buildings were impacted.
