Big Spring ends boil water notice

The notice was due to a fire hydrant of an 18" pipeline had broken loose causing a loss of water and pressure.

BIG SPRING, Texas — Today, the City of Big Spring has announced that the boil water notice has ended.

On Thursday, a fire hydrant of an 18" pipeline had broken loose causing a loss of water and pressure. 

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the City of Big Spring public water system to put all customers north of North 1st street under a boil water notice.

According to a press release, TCEQ has laboratory test results that show that the water no longer requires boiling.
