ODESSA, Texas — The Black Cultural Council of Odessa has planned several exciting events to commemorate Juneteenth from June 20th to June 23rd.
On June 20th, the elegant All White Party Event will take place at the Odessa Marriott, 305 E. 5th Street. Attendees are encouraged to wear all-white attire, and doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for $50 online or $60 at the door. The event features performances by Demola the Violinist and Jeter Jones.
On June 21st, Landon Torbet, a smooth jazz and R&B saxophonist, will perform at the mainstage in Woodson Park (free admission).
On Saturday, June 22nd, the Juneteenth Celebration Parade will take place and will showcase culture, history and unity, featuring live music, dance performances and community speakers. To register to be in the parade or to find out more information, call JoAnn at 432-888-9276.
The Shilo Band takes the stage on June 22nd at 10 p.m., also at the mainstage in Woodson Park (free admission).
Wrapping up the festivities on June 23rd, Slack & Friends Band will deliver R&B music at the mainstage (free admission).
