City management in Odessa to do a review of all operation departments

The City of Odessa is looking to improve efficiency and effectiveness by reviewing all operational departments.

ODESSA, Texas — The City of Odessa announced on Facebook Friday that they will be reviewing all operational departments in the City.

This is what the City said in their post:

"In an ongoing effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the City of Odessa, City Management will be beginning a review of all operational departments in the City over the next few weeks.  A broad task force comprised of Managers and Directors from City Management, Audit, Finance, Risk Management, and Communications has been assembled to begin this process. 

One of the primary purposes of this group will be to review the current ordinances that the city is operating under and how well they fit into the current operation of the City Departments.  The task force will also be reviewing the Administrative Procedures and Personnel Policies for relevance and updating outdated ones.

The results of this review will give City Management a basis to recommend changes that are discovered and where ordinances and policies may need to be updated to reflect changes that have occurred since their implementation."

The City of Odessa says they will continue to update the public on the progress of the task force.
