ANDREWS, Texas — The boil water notice in the city of Andrews has been rescinded, the City of Andrews said on Facebook in a press release.
According to the city, the public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of water.
Around 2:50 a.m. on Friday, there was a power failure at the city's water treatment plant, prompting the water to be shut off to the city.
At around 8 a.m. on Friday, the failure was discovered and restoration processes were started.
The City of Andrews said due to a loss of power, the water from the ground storage tanks could not be pumped into the system. However, as of 3:08 p.m. on Friday, the plant established power and is up and running. Then, a boil water notice went into effect.
The boil water notice is now no longer in effect.
