City of Lamesa implements Drought Contingency Plan - Stage 2

LAMESA, Texas — The City of Lamesa has issued Drought Contingency Plan—Stage 2 that was posted on their Facebook page

The document entailed that water use restrictions for demand reduction will be in place on even number days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) for customers with an address ending in even number. 

On odd number days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), customers with an address ending with an odd number will be affected. 

The document also described some prohibited acts, which included using water to refill any indoor or outdoor swimming pools, wading pools, or jacuzzi pools except on designated watering days. 

No refilling of ornamental fountains or ponds except to support aquatic life. 

Washing sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots, buildings, structures, gutters, cars, motorcycles, boats, trailers, and airplanes are all prohibited. 

A penalty of $100 and no more than $500 per offense will be issued, according to the document.
