City of Midland and Bush Family Home State Historic Site collaborate to form Youth Advisory Council

MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland is collaborating with the Bush Family Home State Historic Site to establish Midland's Youth Advisory Council, according to a post on the City of Midland Facebook page

The council aims to educate students in grades 10 through 12 about municipal government, networking, public service, and leadership. The initiative is designed to empower youth and encourage them to have an everlasting effect on the future of their city. 

Starting in September 2024, YAC meetings will be held on the fourth Monday of each month, with pizza provided. Participants will engage in a group-developed service project and receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the program.

Applications are due by August 31, 2024, and should be sent to bushfamilyhome@thc.texas.gov. The first meeting will take place in September.
