ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa Solid Waste Crew is gearing up for a bulk waste collection event slated for Saturday June 1, at Nimitz Jr. High School’s east parking lot, available from 8 a.m. to noon., according to a post from the City of Odessa Facebook.
Community members are encouraged to bring a variety of large items for disposal, including furniture, appliances, water heaters, hot tubs, above-ground pools, exercise equipment, and trampolines. Outdoor equipment such as string trimmers, mowers, leaf blowers, generators, edgers, tillers, BBQ pits, and patio furniture are also welcome, provided they are free of fuel, oil, and batteries.
In addition, the event will accept home office electronics and small appliances like microwaves, cables, wires, televisions, crock pots, and space heaters.
It’s important to note that construction debris, paint, chemicals, tires, tree limbs, refrigerators, compressors, and freezers will not be accepted unless the freon has been removed.
