Crash in Ector County leaves one Odessan dead, another injured

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — A crash has claimed the life of a 31-year-old Odessa women Thursday morning, according to a news release from Sergeant Steven Blanco with the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

Blanco said the crash took place at the intersection of the Interstate 20 North Service Road and Redondo Ave.   

A 2013 Kia OLX, driven by Ariel Renee Garcia, 31, of Odessa, was traveling eastbound on the north service road. A GMC Sierra, driven by Roger Dale Bilbrey, 62, of Odessa, was westbound on the north service road.

According to Blanco, Bilbrey crossed the center stripe and struck Garcia head-on.  

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene and Bilbrey was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa where he remains in serious condition.

This crash remains under investigation.
