ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Over the last two years, Odessa Arts has been covering traffic boxes around town in artwork.
The city has about 20 boxes covered with work from artists all over the country, and there is more on the way as they expand to the north-east side of town.
“Well, the great thing about traffic boxes is no matter where you work, no matter where you live, you’re going to be go by a traffic box somewhere. so I call it an equitable distribution of art, everybody gets access to art and that is what beautifies our community and gives us a sense of community pride,” said Randy Ham, executive director of Odessa Arts.
The group hopes to one day have art on all 127 traffic boxes and are in search of artists cover them.
