ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Brendan Griffin, Supervisory Senior Resident Agent, said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is aware that Oscar Limon, an ECSO deputy, resigned earlier this week after being accused of misconduct.
Limon, 46, worked for the ECSO for six years.
On Friday of last week, Sheriff Mark Donaldson found out the deputy was releasing classified information from the department. Donaldson would not go into detail about what sort of information was released, but he did call it "disturbing."
The misconduct allegations were sent to FBI.
Griffin says that the FBI takes these types of allegations seriously and that the investigations typically take six months to a year to complete.
Once the entire investigation is complete, the case will go to the grand jury.
It is unclear at this time the nature of the misconduct allegations.
Donaldson says he will not comment on the allegations until the FBI completes their investigation.
