MIDLAND, Texas — NewsWest 9 has confirmed with the City of Midland that lightning was the cause of the fire at a house in the 2000 block of Jadewood Drive in Midland on Thursday evening. That fire left one family displaced.
The Midland Fire Department reports that nobody was injured in the fire.
Efforts were impacted due to high heat and fire venting through the roof, according to MFD.
An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
