FORT STOCKTON, TX (KWES) - The Fort Stockton Police Department has joined numerous other police departments to put "In God We Trust" decals on their police vehicles.
In a press release to NewsWest 9, authorities said the decals serve as a reminder to the Fort Stockton residents that the officers who serve them still depend on faith.
"The slogan itself has raised the morale of our men and women. This was a decision made by all of us," said Fort Stockton Mayor, Chris Alexander.
"We want people to understand we're people too and it's our national motto. It alone builds trust," said Fort Stockton Police Chief, Art Fuentes.
Fort Stockton joins police departments from Seagraves, the Yoakum County Sheriff's Department and Lamesa ambulances in putting the decal on their vehicles.
