FORT STOCKTON, TX (KWES) - Two are behind bars for engaging in organized criminal activity and felony theft after a months-long joint investigation between the Fort Stockton Police Department and the Criminal Investigation Division of the DPS.
According to Fort Stockton Chief of Police Art Fuentes, back in January the two agencies began an investigation into numerous thefts of electronics and perfumes that had targeted Bealls, Walmart, and Target locations throughout Texas.
Isaac-John Bernard Collins and Priscilla Adames, dubbed the "Bealls Bandits," were identified as the suspects.
Authorities concluded that Collins would go into the stores and steal as much as he could carry and then flee to Adames' car who would serve as lookout and getaway driver.
The two would then sell the stolen items in the Corpus Christi area.
Warrants for both were issued in Brewster and Pecos County.
Adames was arrested in February in Corpus Christi, where she confessed that she and Collins had committed about 30 thefts.
Collins was arrested back on June 24 in Marble Falls for felony theft, evading arrest and possession of marijuana.
