GARDENDALE, Texas — Following a major line leak, the Greater Gardendale Water Supply Corporation has been directed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to issue a boil water advisory, according to a press release from the Greater Gardendale Water Supply Corporation.
Residents have been instructed to boil water before consumption, including for washing hands, brushing teeth, and drinking, to eliminate harmful bacteria and microbes.
This precaution is especially critical for children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems.
Water should be boiled vigorously for two minutes before use.
Bottled water or water from another safe source may be used. The public will be informed when boiling is no longer necessary, and the advisory is lifted. Until then, customers are urged to disseminate this notice widely.
