Grow Odessa donates about 37 acres of land to ECISD

ECISD said they have been donated over 30 acres of land to help build the future site of a Career and Learning Center.

ODESSA, Texas — Grow Odessa announced Wednesday that they'll be donating property to the Ector County Independent School District so they can use it for a potential Proposition A project.

The donated property is 37 acres of industrial park land near East Murphy St. and South Meadow Ave.

The district will build a Career and Technical Education Center that's detailed in Prop A of the bond. That donation is contingent on the bond passing.

ECISD also said they gave the green light to buy some property which is related to the upcoming school bond election.

The Board of Trustees approved the purchase of two pieces of property in Odessa.

The first is 40 acres on South Tripp Ave. in West Odessa, where ECISD intends to build a new middle school as part of Prop A of the bond election if it passes in November.

The second is 169 acres over at 9301 Andrews Highway. This purchase is not related to any bond proposals, but will be available for any expansion in the future.
