BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, Texas — UPDATE: 25-year-old Christy Perry was reported missing Thursday after her family reported that she didn't return home from a trip last week to the Big Bend National Park.
The Big Bend National Park says they located and safely rescued Perry at about 9:30 a.m. Friday morning.
According to a press release from National Park Services, Perry was found awake and talking about 1/4 mile below the summit of the Lost Mine Trail.
She is currently under medical care and being transported by helicopter to a hospital in Odessa.
Big Bend National Park Rangers would like to thank everyone who participated in the search.
She was last seen at the Lost Mine Trail on Nov. 9.
She reportedly picked up a rental car in Midland on Nov. 8. Her vehicle was seen parked at trailhead on Nov. 9. However there was no show for a camping reservation on Nov. 9.
