GAINES COUNTY, Texas — A 20-year-old Hobbs woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Gaines County on Tuesday around 2:45 p.m., according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.
Preliminary information revealed that Nabila Sanchez, driving a 2005 Ford Escape, was going westbound on County Road 314 when she veered off the roadway to the right. Then, her car fell into a north barrow ditch "for an unknown reason."
DPS stated that Sanchez tried to overcorrect to the left, but her car rolled over.
She was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The agency did report that Sanchez was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation and no further information is available as of Wednesday afternoon.
