Intersection collision leaves one dead in Midland County

According to the crash report, the collision occurred when the Dodge Avenger was moving westbound on County Road 60 and failed to yield.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — On July 3, at 6:17 p.m. in Midland County, a collision occurred at the intersection of TX 158 and CR 60. The vehicles involved were a 2014 Dodge Avenger and a 2018 Ford F-350, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

The driver of the Dodge Avenger, Sherrie Robinson, 59, of Midland, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital. 

The passenger of the Dodge Avenger, Timothy Earl Bradford, 62, of Midland, was pronounced dead by medical staff. 

The driver of the Ford F-350, Herbert Fontenot, 51, of Goldsmith, Texas, was uninjured. Brandy Brown, 31, also of Goldsmith, TX, and a passenger in the truck sustained minor injuries and were also taken to Midland Memorial Hospital. 

According to the crash report, the collision occurred when the Dodge Avenger was moving westbound on County Road 60 and failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign-marked intersection with SH 158. The F-350 was traveling southeast on SH 158 and, as a result, struck the Dodge Avenger. 

The incident is currently under investigation, and further details are pending.
