Investigation Underway Following Brewster County Helicopter Crash

Four people are recovering following a helicopter crash in Brewster County on Friday. The crash happened 20-25 miles south of Alpine just before 6 p.m.

BREWSTER COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Four people are recovering following a helicopter crash in Brewster County on Friday.

The crash happened 20-25 miles south of Alpine just before 6 p.m.

According to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page, four people were in the helicopter and were conducting a deer survey and shooting feral hogs.

Authorities say two people in the helicopter were able to walk away from the crash site to the highway and call for help.

We're told that due to the location of the crash, 4x4 vehicles were used to reach the crash site.

The pilot and passenger in the helicopter were stabilized at the crash site, carried to emergency vehicles and taken to Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine.

Three of the people had non-life threatening injuries and the other person was taken to an area hospital for further treatment.
