IRAAN, Texas — UPDATE: As of Monday night, approximately 23% of all staff and 27% of instructional staff in the district were positive for COVID-19 or quarantined, according to Iraan-Sheffield ISD Superintendent of Schools Tracy Canter.
Additionally, 16% of the student population is positive or quarantined due to close contact.

Starting tomorrow, Iraan-Sheffield ISD will be closed until August 30, according to the superintendent's office.
All athletic events have also been postponed for two weeks.
The school district is encouraging students and members of the community to quarantine within their homes.
