MIDLAND, Texas — James "Jim" Henry, a well-known philanthropist in the Permian Basin oil community, passed away at the age of 89 on Tuesday.
Henry was known for his huge contributions to the oil sector.
The philanthropist graduated from Oklahoma University in 1958 with a master's degree in petroleum engineering.
Henry worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company and Skelly Oil before transferring to Midland, TX.
A memorial service to honor Henry is scheduled for Monday morning at 11 a.m. on Oct. 23 at the First Methodist Church in Midland.
