Juvenile on motorized scooter dies in Odessa crash

The Odessa Police Department said investigators have determined the car driver "was not at fault in this crash" based on video evidence and GPS data.

ODESSA, Texas — A juvenile on a motorized scooter died in a crash in Odessa Saturday, according to Corporal Steve LeSueur with the Odessa Police Department (OPD).

At approximately 12:54 p.m., OPD and Odessa Fire Rescue (OFR) were called to the intersection of Riverboat and Cajun Streets due to a vehicle/pedestrian crash.

When OPD and OFR arrived, they saw a juvenile, who was riding a motorized scooter, struck by a vehicle.

LeSueur said the juvenile did die as a result of the crash.

According to LeSueur, investigators determined the car driver "was not at fault in this crash" based on video evidence and GPS data.

LeSueur said there are not going to be any charges filed at this time.
