Kid's Farmer's Market returns to WTX Food Bank in Odessa

There were more activities and vendors thanks to the expansions made to the location.

ODESSA, Texas —

This year’s Kid’s Farmer’s Market was expanded, and more activities and vendors were brought in thanks to the extra space the food bank had to work with.

It's the first time they've held the kid's farmers market since the expansion and the food bank couldn't be happier with the results.

“You know what's so great is that we actually have enough space to host so many people in our community who want to come out and enjoy the West Texas food bank and the things we do. So, to actually have everything spread out, we're not all on top of each other, which is a really big deal.” said Libby Stephens, CEO of the West Texas Food Bank.

One of the new additions to the Odessa location is the new volunteer center.

Not only is it used by the food bank for volunteers to do work, but it can also act as another venue or space for events to be held.

“So, #1, we can host really great events in there—dinners and education, you know, summits—those kinds of things for our community. Again, it's our volunteer space; it's especially for them. So, it's a special warehouse that's set up for them to be able to do our work... Next year we'll be expanding our vendors, and we'll have more stuff to do for our kids inside at the volunteer center.” Stephens continued.

Stephens says that they're putting the finishing touches on the volunteer center and that it will fully open up for events after July 4th.
