One dead in major crash off East Loop 338

The driver of a Ford F-150 failed to yield the right of way and hit 33-year-old Vance Peek. Peek was pronounced dead at the hospital.

ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa Police Department said the driver of a motorcycle has died in a major crash at the intersection of East Loop 338 and Arroyo Rd. on Friday.

According to a press release, at approximately 4:24 p.m., OPD and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the crash at the intersection.

An investigation revealed that a black 2021 Ford F-150 was going south in the 4500 block of NE Loop 338 and attempted to turn east onto Arroyo Rd. 33-year-old Vance Peek, driving a white 2006 Harley Davidson, was going north in the 4500 block of NE Loop 338.

The driver of the Ford F-150 failed to yield the right of way and collided with Peek. The Ford F-150 then collided into a beige 2022 GMC Denali that was stopped at a stop sign facing west at the intersection of Arroyo and NE Loop 338.

Peek was transported to Medical Center Hospital where he would later die. Next of kin has been notified.

An investigation is ongoing.
